In this map, Ortelius gives a number or details found on no other printed map of the period?. Se detalla especialmente el desierto del Sahara. Están presentes un número importante de grandes lagos y sistemas fluviales que conectan con los oasis saharianos, situados en Algeria, en la meseta del Tademait. En el reverso, descripción en latín. Koeman speculated: "In view of the important trading relationship between Antwerp and Africa, it is not impossible that the original was a manuscript map of Portuguese or Venetian origin. Color original, envejecido por el paso del tiempo. Papel fuerte, alguna imperfección en el margen superior. Edición española. Se editaron 1.350 ejemplares en la época, pero circulan unos 35. Es difícil de encontrar y tiene una fuerte demanda. Referenciado en Koeman Atlantes Neerlandici III: 144. Joan Babtista de Vrients (1552-1612), grabador y editor flamenco, adquirió los materiales del Theatrum Orbis Terrarum (primer atlas conocido en que se publica un mapa de Cataluña; las descripciones de Ortelius sirvieron de base para cartógrafos posteriores; constó de 119 mapas, con un gran escudo del rey Felipe III o II de Cataluña-Aragón) que estampó en la imprenta Plantin. La Imprenta Plantiniana, fundada en Anvers por el impresor francés Christophe Plantin (1520-1589), perduró hasta le 1876, año en que fue convertida en museo. Scale 1:750.000. At top right is the island of Corsica, and below that is the Ancona region along the coast of the Adriatic. Each map is adorned with decorative cartouches. Oceans, mountains, rivers, lakes, cities and important towns are beautifully detailed on all three maps. There were only 6,275 copies of the map printed. In 1573 Edition were 475 copies. Very Good El mapa muestra el sudeste asiático desde la península arábiga hasta las Filipinas incluyendo las Indias Orientales y las Célebes. Por el norte está limitado por el mar Caspio. Tiene poca información política, y solamente se nombran los ríos, lagos y montañas principales. Muestra un lago subterráneo entre Tibet y Nepal como fuente principal de la mayoría de los ríos en Asia. Decorativo cartucho del título, con ángeles y Neptuno. Publicado en la edición holandesa del famoso Subterranean World de Johann Waesberger. Se realizó a partir del modelo de Texeira. Originalmente fue realizado por Janssonius para el Atlas Minor, y también se incluyó en la popular geografía de Philip Cluver.
